THE SEED
MATTHEW 13:4
Is the problem from the Earth(soil) or from the seed?
Everyone desires a fruitful, fulfilled and productive life but most people don’t know how to go about it. Many people are successful but are not fulfilled. God’s fulfillment is not equivalent to man’s definition of success, rather, it is in the fruit and product of the seed.
A seed cannot grow outside the soil ditto an infertile soil. The heart of man is likened to the soil and the word of God is the seed. Many people desire the result of the word of God without accommodating the seed in their heart.The experience of the word of God is based on the principle of germination.
In the parable of the sower, the seed doesn’t contribute to the failure of the tree. The seed is incorruptible and eternal 1 Peter 1:23.
The heart of man determines whether the seed will germinate or not. An unregenerated heart is a stony heart (Ezekiel 11:19, 36:26 ) and it can’t permit growth. Many people with this kind of heart don’t understand and believe the Word; it is known that ” The truth of the word of God you know will set you free”. Some people may have wrong understanding which may be due to an incomplete knowledge of the Word. This also makes a believer unable to produce fruit.
We conceive the word in our hearts through studying, believing in, and meditating on the Word. As we do these, the seed germinates spontaneously without our extra effort.
Mark 4:26 – “And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Mark 4:27 – And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
Mark 4:28 – For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
Mark 4:29 – But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.”
