TOPIC: PERSECUTION IN CHRISTIAN FAITH
TEXT: MARK 10: 29-30
Persecution can be said to be hatred, harassment, hostility shown to a person because of cultural, political or religious belief. While the Christian faith is our way of living due to our beliefs. Thereon, persecution is the suffering/temptations of one’s faith.
So we can say persecution in Christian’s faith is the suffering of Christ brought on us by the world due to our faith in Christ. The reason a Christian is persecuted is due to the expression of his/her faith in Christ by living(lifestyle). The book of Acts of the apostles really express the persecution of the Christian.
As Christian our response to persecution is to rejoice not in the suffering itself but in the blessedness of the reward that await those that partook in the suffering of Christ in the kingdom of heaven. The joy of persecution comes by the persuasion of our faith in Christ.
To be able to scale through persecution, you have to stand in the faith and take on the whole armour of God. Ephesians 6:13.
