Day 10 – The Heart of Worship

The heart of worship is surrendering our all to God (Rom. 12:1). Surrendering all to God is the true heart of worship, it is the response to God’s amazing love and mercy. We give ourselves to him, not out of fear but out of love because he first loved us. (John 4:10)
Offering ourselves to God is what worship is all about.

The act of personal surrendering is call consecration, making Jesus your Lord, taking up your cross daily, dying to self, yielding to the Spirit. Fear, pride and confusion serves as a barriers to our been surrender to God.

Trust is the essential ingredient to surrender. You wouldn’t surrender to God if you don’t trust him, but you can’t trust him if you don’t know him better. Surrendering people obey God even when it doesn’t make sense, victory comes through surrender, surrender doesn’t weaken you but it strengthen you. Surrender is not the best way to live, it is the only way to live.
