Day 11 – Becoming Best Friends with God

God is indeed intentional about us and our lives being built on Him and around Him. He wants not just to be part of our lives but to be the center of our lives.
You might have known the Lord as Father, Lord, Provider and so on, above all He wants you to know Him as your Friend, He wants to have a living-breathing relationship with you like the experience in Eden.

The Lord desires to be involved in your everyday life, even in the not seemingly important things, He desires that much closeness – As the scripture says In Him we live, we move and have our being -this should be or reality, Oh is this really possible you might ask? Yes, through constant, conscious, consistent practice it is possible.

This chapter is therefore aimed at helping us to know that we can become God’s friend when we develop the habit of having a constant conversation with God and keep speaking with the Lord as you go about your normal day to day activity, practice thanksgiving, praise, petition, intercession, supplication – praying all kinds of prayer without ceasing, this helps your intimacy with God.

Also, practice constant meditation on the word of God, mull over the word of God in your heart over and over again both the written word and the spoken word, let the word of God fill your thoughts richly, replace worrying with meditating. This takes conscious practice to master, therefore begin today.

Point to Ponder: God wants to be my best friend.

Verse to Remember: “Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence
him.” Psalm 25:14a (LB)

Question to Consider: What can I do to remind myself to think about God and talk to him more often throughout the day?
