DAY 2 – THE SECRET OF THE SHUT DOOR

According to Matthew 6:6. Jesus placed a strong focus on the secret place when He spoke about prayer. In fact, He stressed the importance of the secret place as the first lesson in prayer. Jesus would instruct us on how to pray in the verses that followed, but first He tells us where to pray.

Matthew 6:6 reveals a potent truth about the location of prayer. There is a surefire method to enter God’s presence. Jesus Himself gave us the secret to having immediate connection with the Father, and it is a sure-fire, 100% assured method. When Jesus said, “Your Father who is in the secret place,” He revealed this secret to us. Your Father is already in the secret place, Jesus is saying. He has already passed you by and is now waiting for you. When you enter the Secret Place, your Father is there waiting for you.

This statement of Jesus was repeated twice in the same chapter. ‘So that you do not appear to mankind to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly,’ he adds in Matthew 6:18. Jesus emphasizes it twice, letting us know that it is a 100% guaranteed statement.
Jesus gives us the key to finding the secret place of intimacy with God. To get there, all we have to do is shut our door and enter our room. When we do this, we are instantly in the presence of our Father in heaven, regardless of our soul’s climate. This secret place is our portal to the throne, the place where we taste of heaven itself. Receive this word and gain one of the greatest secrets to intimacy with God, as it will set your spirit free to soar.

You are constructing your life on solid ground when you base it on the blessed closeness of a private relationship with God. In Chapters 5-7 of Matthew’s Gospel, our Lord Jesus Christ makes this clear to us. Jesus compared them to a wise man who built his house on the rock and it did not crumble when He said that in this discourse, He was setting out the pillars of a disciple’s life. If they don’t, they’ll be like the fool who built his house on the sand and it collapses.

Jesus’ message is clear as day. He is advising them, “If you will hear what I have taught you in this Sermon on the Mount and put it into practice, you will lay the foundations for a life that will withstand the worst storms of life.” And trust me when I say that there will definitely be storms! Some storms in your life have yet to arrive. Will you have the necessary infrastructure in place to weather the storms?
Having a healthy hidden relationship with God is one of the foundation’s most important components. Those who hear this word and obey it will not only experience daily closeness with the Father, but they will also be prepared to withstand the biggest storms, whether they come from the wrath of hell, the diversions of this world, or the flood of heavenly benefits.

Don’t forget the secret: shut your door.
