TOPIC: BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART
TEXT: MATTHEW 5:8
The heart of a man is the centre of who he is. A man’s action is a reflection of his kind of heart. Proverbs 4:23
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
The Lord desires to communicate with every heart and that’s why he is so much concerned about the state of the heart. Understanding that it is the heart that produce the actions of a man, the Lord demands purity of heart.
To be pure means clarity, transparency, spotless and without blemish. The heart of a man is desperately wicked who can know it? God knows the heart of a fallen man(Adam) is full of evil and selfish desires and that’s why he gives a new heart in placement for the Stony heart at salvation Eze. 36:26.
The purification of the heart is by the word of God (Psalm 119:9). We can only see God when we approach him with a pure heart (2 Cor 3:15-18). The seeing is not necessarily with the physical eyes but with the eyes of the heart through relationship, communion and intimacy with him. Thank you.
