The journey to the discovery of your purpose
It All Start With God
God is the source of everything and the purpose to which He created everything is found only in Him.
For through the Son everything was created, both in the heavenly realm and on the earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen. Every seat of power, realm of government, principality, and authority—it was all created through him and for his purpose! (Col. 1:16 TPT)
Purpose is beyond just living for a better life, choosing a career, setting some goals in life, and the dreams of who to become in the nearest future. The biggest question in the heart of every man is a question of purpose, i.e it’s a question of the essence to which a man exist on the earth. If you want to know the essence of your existence here on earth you will have to begin with God because He created you for His purpose and permit your birth so as for you to fulfill His purpose here on earth.
No man created him/herself, likewise can no man discover the essence of his living just by the approval of others people’s ideas about certain uniqueness possessed by you or by looking within yourself for uncommon ability to do some uncommon things that is not common among other people .
To discover your purpose you must go back to your Maker, your Creator the one who owns the complete manual and guide of your life, He knows what you’re made of and made for. It is good to pursue a career/profession, achieve your dreams, or make plans for your life but purpose is beyond that; it’s about becoming what God made you to be and not what you want to become in life.
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” (Jer. 1:5 NLT)
God is not just the starting point of your life, He is the source of your life, so to discover your life’s purpose you have to know Him: Jesus Christ, the source of everything and begin a relationship with Him. You may choose your career/profession, your hobbies and many other part of your life but one thing is certain, you cannot choose your purpose. It is God who choose the purpose of every man, any other paths taken to discover of your purpose outside of God and His word leads to a dead end.
Thinking About My Purpose
Point to ponder: it is not about me but all of me is about God.
Question to ask yourself: How can I remind myself that the true meaning of life is not living for myself, but living for God?
