DAY 32 – THE SECRET OF WAITING

Our secret place is like a time machine, that takes us from our definition of time and space to God’s definitions giving us a different view of the ways of life; and so therefore waiting on God as a whole different meaning. And the more we get closer to God, the more we realize that God is never in a hurry. He has everything planned out and to follow in that suit we have to cast away all hastiness, because whosoever believes will not act hastily (Isaiah 28:16).
Many of us go to our secret place with a program matrix that involves all the events that will take place during our quiet time and when those events are finished we conclude that we are done for the day. But? Is that really the case? What about the aspect of Waiting on God? What about the aspect of receiving replies to our questions?
And to wait on God is not to be on our phones till we hear a reply or to engage ourselves in a distracting activity; waiting on God requires total attention to gazing at the hand of the Lord because it is His hand that will do what we need. Therefore every morning set out to seek the Face and the Hand of the Lord.

Waiting upon the Lord is probably the hardest spiritual discipline there is and that is why very few people practice it. Just sitting and waiting can be very very agonizing to many of us that are hyper active or engaged in various activities. We lack the attention span to wait on God but God understands and he has designed scenarios to help us to learn on how to wait on Him. To wait on God successfully, we must come to derive pleasure from being with Him.

Even with all the experience we might have gathered; we need to understand that it is the zeal of the Lord that helps us to wait. God’s flaming zeal empowers us to wait on Him. Some of God’s most powerful angels, who burn with zeal for Him, are described in the book of Revelation as standing at their post—where they’ve been standing and waiting for centuries—until the time when God signals their release (Revelation 8:2; 19:17).
They are enflamed with zeal so they can wait. God is setting you ablaze with His fiery passions in this hour in order that you might wait upon Him in holy passion and fiery ecstacy.
