Day 12
TOPIC: GOD SPEAKS THROUGH THE BIBLE
All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching,
for rebuking, for correction, for training in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for
every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
The Lord speaks to us through different means by His Spirit at work in us and He has given us His word, the scriptures as a guide to recognizing His voice, when we desire to honor Him through His word He brings honor to us too.
Recognizing God’s voice is a factor of being His, it is only those that are His that can hear His voice.
And much more through the scriptures the Lord reveals Himself to His own, understanding the scriptures is by the Holy Spirit’s help and so when spiritual truths are unveiled to us from the scriptures it is the Lord speaking to us by His Spirit through the scriptures.
When spiritual truths are being revealed to us, we must be swift in responding because they ought to become life in us, in prayer and meditation we respond to God through this revelation and by applying them as the need arises in our day to day living. It is important to do that which has been revealed, it could be a counsel, instruction, rebuke or reproof in what ever form God spoke to us and is bring revealed we must adjust by doing the word.
As we grow more intimately involved with the Lord, He desires to reveal Himself more to us and when we read the scriptures He speaks to us His instructions and when we take steps towards the things He speaks to us we realize that we experience His working upon, in and through us. Let’s therefore spend time in prayer so as to ask the Lord to bring to our remembrance His words spoken to us through the scriptures so as to begin to reflect on them to get His mind, purposes and plans for our lives.
