DAY 3

TOPIC: DOING GOD’S WILL

“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish
His work,” Jesus told them.
(John 4:34)

No matter how noble a cause is, if it is not God breathed, He will not sponsor or approve of it and this implies more energy and strength to spend from our end instead of His grace. Let us then beware of man centered causes that appear noble, one thing they do is deprive us of the workings of the Lordship of Christ in us.

We often make things to be about us even God’s will, but it is never about us, it is about His purposes, we therefore should not have personal agenda even when it is His will, He knows how to fix us in the big picture. We ought to be weaned and become mature seeing the need to focus on God and not on ourselves, the truth is God thinks about us and knows the plan He has for us whether we are aware or not, we need to trust Him and focus on the things He is focusing on, which is the desires of His heart and the burdens in His mind, we ought to wipe off His tears by taking responsibility.

It is not about being busy for the Lord, it is about knowing the Lord and being known by the Lord. These we must priorities, our relationship, friendship and walk with the Lord that we might not keep laboring in futility. Our experiences of who He is comes from our relationship with Him not in our busyness with His work. Martha was busy trying to please the Lord yet she did not know what was needful but for Mary that sat at His feet got the needful, and the most important thing. His desires can only be accomplished in and through you not by you, it takes abidance to experience this.

A man can easily be worn out trying to do something for the Lord but all He requires is a love- walk with Him, He does not leave us to figure out our lives by ourselves, but in our relationship with Him we draw nearer to the path we ought to walk in, He enables and empowers us as we submit to His Lordship.
It requires trusting all the way, therefore desire to follow as He leads you one step at a time on a daily basis.
