DAY 20

RETURNING TO GOD
And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love
and good works, not staying away from our meeting,
as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the
more as you see the day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

There’s one thing the Lord requires and it is that every person comes to Love Him with all their heart, mind, soul and body, it is that every one comes to the realisation that He is Lord over every thing and that through building intimacy with Him we come to experience Him as our Father, Friend and Lord, all these can never be gotten from being religious, religion makes a man have a form of godliness without bearing the fruits of the life in him, so you can be serving the God you have not yet known.
Indeed our fellowshipping with the Lord opens us up to a life of great things that has never and will never cross our minds.
Therefore when there’s a break in our relationship with the Lord we must seek to be restored, it begins with finding out what caused the breach and if sin, iniquity or transgression is found in us, we must seek repentance in humility and turn a new leaf then we become revived and a time of refreshing (intimacy) comes on us again, we must know the things that causes a break in our relationship with the Lord they are distractions ie pursuit of others outside God, carelessness( not being fervent or jealous about the treasure of life handed over to us) and also rejecting the grace bestowed upon us by turning away to other things deliberately. The symptoms of lost fellowship become evident has time goes on for such a fellow will no longer be able to hear the voice of his Lord, joy becomes lost, there is staleness in his life since he is no longer producing fruits, and he falls victim to the circumstances around him.
It is expedient for every christian to keep watch over his relationship with the Lord, making sure that it stays intact. How?
Keep your heart with all diligence, our heart is the center of our entire conscious life it connects the spirit, soul and body and we must guard against invasions that wants to bring contamination to our entire being through our heart. We mist take heed to instructions, principles and precepts giving to us by the Lord, we must surround ourselves with people that we can be accountable to and we must keep the love of God constantly burning on our hearts, our love for the Lord must not waxed cold, it must be kept burning.
If all these are missing, take time out to personally seek the face of the Lord, he will definitely the root of the problem.
Our survival as a branch depends on our abidance in the vine.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
Take a moment to consider any evidence in your life that you
have wandered from your love relationship with God. Are you
regularly hearing God speak to you? Is your life filled with the
joy of the Lord? Are you seeing spiritual fruit in your life? Are
you experiencing victory?
Are you presently loving God with all your heart, soul, mind, and
strength? If you are not, what might you do today to rekindle
your love for God?
Do you have people in your life who feel free to share their
concerns with you when they see you departing from your love
relationship with God? If not, what might you do to enlist a
friend to help guard your heart?
