DAY 19

GOD ACCOMPLISHES HIS WORK

Some insist on seeing some sort of sign when we receive God’s offer to join Him. Given that God invites you to a relationship with Him, you should be cautious in how you perceive your circumstances. We frequently assume that God will act in a certain way and at a certain moment, so we assume that He will do the opposite and try to control the situation ourselves. If God seems to be moving slowly in your life, ponder these issues. Am I prepared to follow everything and wait patiently for God’s timing? Have I carried out everything I already know to be His will? When you obey God, He will guide you in His truth. Give Him all the time he needs to mold you into the person He wants you to be.
Regarding the Father’s will, the Holy Spirit will never lead you astray. Wait until you hear all His Father had instructed Him to accomplish with patience (John 17:4). Jesus fulfilled all that the Father had planned for Him to do throughout His life. Christ is completely within us to enable us to discern and carry out God’s purpose (Gal. 2:20).

Scripture reveals that when God worked through an obedient God, He told Moses His name: “I AM WHO I AM” (Exo. 3:14). They gained a deeper and more personal understanding of Jesus as a person or as a group of people. Jesus told His followers that He was the “bread of life.” You must trust Him in order to encounter Jesus in these ways (John 6:35). Because of this, Jesus claimed to be the Old Testament’s I AM. Knowing makes you aware. He works in and through you as you obediently follow Him. “I am the entrance.” (John 10:9) “I am the life and the resurrection.” Know and experience Him as “the way” (John 11:25). Everything that God says is true.
By working in and through you, God is at work right now bringing a lost world back to Himself. You and people around you will be able to see that God has been working through you as Jesus obeys and completes His task via you. You can only completely come to know God when you encounter His Son, Jesus Christ, in your life.
