CAN WE HAVE BOTH THE NEW MAN AND THE OLD MAN?
We cannot have both (ruling) in our lives. Either we submit to God or we submit to the devil; Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two master: for either he will hate one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. We cannot be possessed by both! We are either God’s or the devils. Therefore, it is our responsibility as children of God, who have God’s spirit to help us live to walk in accordance to fulfilling the purpose of our salvation- being conformed to God’s image.
It is not difficult, it is only a matter of choice- working out what God is working in us. Also, it is a work of faith. (Philippians 2:12, 13; James 2:17-25).
Finally brethren, God is not mocked, whatever a man sows he will reap, if we sow to the flesh, we will reap corruption, if is to the spirit we reap life and peace. God also has not given us the spirit of fear or defeat, rather of love, power, sound mind, courage through the knowledge of Christ’s work on the cross to defeat all the devil’s work in us and through us (1 John 3:8b).
