Day 3 – What Drives Your Life

What have you been living by each day of your life?

Definitely, every person’s has been created for something unique to each individuals and performing that unique role is what brings definition and differentiation to a life. Therefore all our attempts and workings should be directional to achieving the unique result our lives are meant for.

But Instead, we’ve choose to be controlled by either trying to hide our shame, pains, hurts, peer pressure, negative circumstances, materialism which is able to cut us short from our purpose and devalue our uniqueness. And this can only drive us to making short time goals which will still leave us empty. Ecclesiastes 4:4

The value of a life is in the purpose it serves and not determined by the valuables that are temporal. Having the clear understanding of our purpose is a great force that gives our lives meaning and keep it narrowed. Purpose keeps us hopeful, effective and productive. Just as a machine wired to clear forest trees would be effective and productive in clearing bushes but will fail in packing sands.

Also, as a truck with the capacity to carry 100 tubers of yam trying to carry 5000 tubers of yam will eventually breakdown or not even function at all. So it is same as a life driven by fear and other things asides purpose will breakdown due to overwhelmed stress and fatique.

Lastly, living a purposeful life prepares you for eternity. It best to build up treasures for yourself with God in His kingdom than striving to build your treasures here on earth that will still pass away.

Point to ponder: What exactly I’m I living by?

Question to ask yourself: What should be the drive for my life?
