DAY 22 – THE SECRET OF FINISHING

Sometimes our secret place( quiet time) is cut short by events beyond our control and the days activities can disturb us from properly utilizing time before our King. A 7am class for example can be a big distraction to our quiet time; we won’t be fully concentrated on the presence of God and we tend to be time conscious which would ultimately deny us of the benefits of that time with God. Each meeting with God is an event and it is an event that deserves the honor of completion.

There are times were we truly long to stay in the presence of God for lengthy periods of time, and when we are not able to do so, we feel as though we’ve let down the Lord; but the truth is God is not angry or displeased when we leave his presence because of unavoidable events, instead He is happy that we’ve reluctantly left His presence.

Even still, there is a need for us finishing our time with God before moving to the affairs of the day. Many of us need to understand the need to break during our quiet time; which means to keep pressing until we get to a point where our spirit is connected to the Father Himself (from the warm up time to the time of interaction and intimacy). However we tend to do this with our own time. We need to realize that our secret place is not complete without the full completion of what GOD intends, therefore it is easy to leave before God is done with us.

One of the secrets of the secret place is staying until it is finished, even our Lord Jesus had a time with of completion in prayers and the way we finish might differ everyday but we need to understand is that the one that determines that the time is finished is God. Give God the honor of dismissing you.

Therefore we must be wary of rushing away from the presence of God.(Ecclesiastes 8:3 Do not be hasty to go from His( the kings presence)) if this is true of earthly kings, how much more our Heavenly Father. Since we’ve entered His presence boldly with the blood of the lamb, let’s take time to ingest all what He has for us until He releases us.

Time spent before the lord is never a waste.
